David Hart was found guilty of 16 charges over a horrific 14-year campaign of abuse which started when his victim was pre-teen<\/span><\/p>\n

A paedophile repeatedly raped a young girl in a a 14-year campaign of abuse and allegedly forced her to have sex with a dog.<\/p>\n

The victim claimed she was subjected to horrific abuse by David Hart which was broadcast live in internet chatrooms.<\/p>\n

The girl was 11 or 12 when the abuse began.<\/p>\n

Hart, now 60, denied 16 charges between 2001 and 2015, including 12 rape offences, two indecent assaults, assault by penetration and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.<\/p>\n

But he was found guilty on all counts by a jury at Swansea Crown Court, by a majority verdict of eleven to one on each.<\/p>\n

Hart’s victim gave traumatic interviews to police in which she said she blamed herself for being “too afraid” to stop him.<\/p>\n

In the interviews, which were summarised in court by Judge Geraint Walters, she described what he called “some of the gravest sexual offences”.<\/p>\n

Judge Walters described how she said the paedophile took her virginity by pinning her up against a stable wall and raping her.<\/p>\n

She alleged the abuse was filmed and other people watched.<\/p>\n

The victim claimed the abuse initially took place on a one-to-one basis but later he moved to an internet chatroom where “a few hundred people would watch”.<\/p>\n

In police interviews, she also described extreme pain she experienced during the sex acts.<\/p>\n

She told the police officer: “I blame myself. I never did enough to stop him. I had opportunities to stop him but I was too afraid.<\/p>\n

“I hate myself. I feel disgusted I let him do these things. I dream of it. Every single night I go through that.”<\/p>\n

On another occasion, according to Judge Walters, she said that in a portacabin: “He made me have sex with a dog and wanted me to do it again. It got to the point I had to hurt the dog to stop him.<\/p>\n

“It was disgusting. I can\u2019t put into words how much that hurt.”<\/p>\n

She also alleged that she believed she may have been drugged.<\/p>\n

Hart attended the trial which began last week, but failed to turn up to court on the day the jury would be sent out as he had been admitted to hospital that morning.<\/p>\n

He will be sentenced at a later date when he is discharged.<\/p>\n

Judge Walters reminded the jury that Hart, a taxi driver, was a man of previous good character, and had denied allegations he had asked a former partner to engage in sex acts with a friend\u2019s doberman dog.<\/p>\n

He also said that under cross-examination he had claimed to be physically unable to have sex at the time the allegations took place.<\/p>\n
