Sex isn\u2019t selling \u2014 at least not at one legal Aussie brothel, whose owner says online dating apps and tighter regulations are pinching her bottom line.<\/p>\n

\u201cTinder and these sex dating sites have absolutely affected us,\u201d the owner, who asked to be called only Rebecca told the Sunshine Coast Daily. \u201cThe younger generation are so willy-nilly with their sexuality, they can look at someone [on an app] and go \u2018Oh you\u2019re only a few kilometers away, let\u2019s meet up and have sex.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Her brothel Lush Marcoola in Queensland has seen a staggering 40 percent drop in business last year, she said.<\/p>\n

But men looking for lust are better off going to her brothel, she insisted, because the women who work there are likely healthier than a potential Tinder partner.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re trying to educate them on the positives of coming to a legal brothel instead of a private girl on Tinder,\u201d she said, adding that sex workers in brothels must have a sexual health certificate to reduce the spread of STIs.<\/p>\n

She also pointed the finger at tight regulations and private prostitutes who use the apps to advertise their services.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey advertise on Locanto, Tinder even on Gumtree; they can put photos up of themselves half naked \u2014 we can\u2019t even do that on our website,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re only able to advertise in certain places, like our website and in the newspaper,\u201d Rebecca said. \u201cThe private girls can advertise pretty anywhere they want \u2026 they don\u2019t have to register with the government.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the slump, Rebecca said her bawdy business won\u2019t close.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re open for business and will stay that way,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
