In a fresh statement, North Korea said its unpredictable leader will make the final decision on whether to attack<\/span><\/p>\n

North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un will decide in “mid-August” whether to fire four missile rockets at US targets in Guam.<\/p>\n

A fresh statement from the secretive regime emerged on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

“The Hwasong-12 rockets to be launched by the KPA (Korean People\u2019s Army) will cross the sky above Shimane, Hiroshima and Koichi Prefectures of Japan,\u201d said General Kim Rak Gyom.<\/p>\n

“They will fly 3,356.7 km for 1,065 seconds and hit the waters 30 to 40 km away from Guam.”<\/p>\n

The North added that President Donald Trump\u2019s \u201cfire and fury\u201d comments earlier this week are a \u201cload of nonsense\u201d, saying only \u201cabsolute force can work on him\u201d.<\/p>\n

It comes as the war of words between the US and North Korea escalated dramatically in the past 48 hours.<\/p>\n

Trump said America’s nuclear arsenal is “far stronger and more powerful than ever before” as fears grow of military conflict.<\/p>\n

President Trump tweeted: “My first order as President was to renovate and modernize our nuclear arsenal.<\/p>\n

“It is now far stronger and more powerful than ever before….<\/p>\n

“…Hopefully we will never have to use this power, but there will never be a time that we are not the most powerful nation in the world!”<\/p>\n

The US military earlier released pictures of supersonic B-1B bombers flying from Guam after North Korea threatened to strike an American airbase on the Pacific island.<\/p>\n

Two US Air Force B-1B jets took part in 10-hour mission over the Korean peninsula just hours before Kim Jong-un revealed plans to strike the remote island.<\/p>\n

Kim Jong-un’s intentions were revealed shortly after Trump announced any threat to America would be met with “fire and fury”.<\/p>\n

US Democrats slammed Trump for his \u201cbombastic\u201d and \u201cunhinged\u201d comments, while White House senior counselor Kellyanne Conway described them as \u201cstrong and obvious\u201d.<\/p>\n

Pyongyang said it was “carefully examining” a plan to strike Guam, which is home to about 163,000 people, a submarine squadron, an airbase and a Coast Guard group.<\/p>\n

A Korean People’s Army spokesman said in a statement carried by state-run KCNA news agency the plan would be put into practice at any moment once leader Kim Jong-un makes a decision.<\/p>\n

Earlier this morning, the US Air Force released a statement describing how two B-1B bombers flew a practice mission over the Korean Peninsula yesterday.<\/p>\n
