A 20-year-old North Carolina college co-ed who planned on being a child psychologist was busted for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old boy, and could spend decades in the slammer if she\u2019s convicted on all charges, according to reports.<\/p>\n
East Carolina University student Taylor Moseley met the teen through a mutual friend she worked with at a bar in Surf City, Police Chief Ron Shanahan told Star News.<\/p>\n
The sexual relationship between the two happened in May, WECT reported.<\/p>\n
When the boy\u2019s mother got wind of the relationship, she reported it to the Pender County Department of Social Services, which referred the case to police, Shanahan told Star News.<\/p>\n
Moseley surrendered last week at the Pender County Courthouse in Burgaw on a warrant from the Surf City Police Department, Shanahan told the outlet.<\/p>\n
She was charged with statutory rape, indecent liberties with a child and statutory sex offense, according to records obtained by Star News. Statutory rape and statutory sex offenses each carry potential sentences of up to 25 years in prison, according to state law.<\/p>\n
She is being held on $225,000 bond.<\/p>\n
Moseley \u2014 who said in a YouTube video posted last year that she wants to become a child psychologist \u2014 also has another open case in Onslow County for driving after consuming alcohol underage, according to the report. She faces 60 days in jail if convicted on those charges.<\/p>\n\n
