While Jada Pinkett Smith sees the new biopic about her late friend Tupac Shakur as \u201cdeeply hurtful,\u201d one of the movie\u2019s stars, Kat Graham, says she had the actress\u2019s support as recently as last week.<\/p>\n

Graham, who plays Jada in All Eyez on Me<\/em>, tells E! News she reached out to Will Smith\u2019s wife before making the movie.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I first got the role, I reached out to [Jada] a year and a half ago\u2026 the point of reaching out to her, as well as the other producers on the film, was to insure the integrity of the story and the character,\u201d the former Vampire Diaries <\/em>star shares.<\/p>\n

Graham adds, \u201cI even spoke to her last week and she had nothing but support.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shortly after the film\u2019s release on Friday, on what would have been Tupac\u2019s 46th<\/sup> birthday, Jada took to Twitter to express her feelings about the film and her portrayal.<\/p>\n

\u201cForgive me \u2026 my relationship to Pac is too precious to me for the scenes in All Eyez on Me<\/em> to stand as truth,\u201d Smith tweeted. \u201cPac never read me that poem. I didn\u2019t know that poem existed until it was printed in his book.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cPac never said goodbye to me before leaving for LA. He had to leave abruptly and it wasn\u2019t to pursue his career. I\u2019ve never been to any of Pac\u2019s shows by his request. We never had an argument backstage.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reimagining of my relationship to Pac has been deeply hurtful,\u201d concluded Pinkett Smith.<\/p>\n

However, Jada made sure to note that she didn\u2019t have an issue with the performances of Graham or Demetrius Shipp Jr., who plays Tupac.<\/p>\n
