Sherri Papini, the mom-of-two\u00a0<\/span>who authorities say was kidnapped and held captive for 22 days, is living\u00a0<\/span>at an undisclosed location\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>reportedly\u00a0<\/span>may never return to her home near the trail in Redding, California, where she was abducted while jogging on Nov. 2.<\/p>\n

That doesn\u2019t surprise John Kelly, a noted serial killer profiler.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is going to take an awful lot of therapy, an anti-depressant, probably anti-anxiety medication,\u201d he tells PEOPLE. \u201cIt will be very hard for her to navigate these traumatic waters.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s only by an act of God that they let her go,\u201d Kelly says. \u201cI have a hard time understanding that as sadistic as these are \u2014 and I\u2019ve hunted many of them \u2014 would let someone live.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though no arrests have been made, investigators continue their pursuit of anyone connected to Papini\u2019s abduction. Authorities have reportedly said there is not yet enough evidence to officially rule anyone out as a suspect.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe can identify this perpetrator,\u201d Kelly tells PEOPLE. As he explains, \u201cIf they know where she lives, she will always worry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Papini was found\u00a0<\/span>on the side of a highway Thanksgiving morning\u00a0<\/span>150 miles from her home. Her husband and officials have said she was beaten, branded and chained, her long blonde hair chopped off.<\/p>\n

She told police she was abducted by two armed Hispanic women \u2014 one with curly hair, one with straight hair \u2014 who\u00a0<\/span>covered their faces\u00a0<\/span>and spoke mostly Spanish.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Her being branded, Kelly tells PEOPLE in this week\u2019s issue, on newsstands Friday, is a sign of \u201cshaming and degrading\u201d that routinely occurs in sex trafficking rings. \u201cThis is a sadistic situation, and she somehow was able to convince them to let her go,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

\u201cI give her a lot of credit to be able to survive this ordeal.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Papini has not spoken publicly about her captivity, her friends and family\u00a0<\/span>have rallied around her, thankful for her return. Her husband, Keith Papini,\u00a0<\/span>has said\u00a0<\/span>the idea of the alleged abductors still being free is \u201cterrifying\u201d \u2014 but that\u2019s not all he thinks about.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy family is with me now,\u201d he said. \u201cRight now I am happy my wife is back. I don\u2019t have to raise my kids without her.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
