Filomena Kaguako has written an open letter to demand men stop fetishising her race.<\/p>\n

She joined dating site Plenty of Fish to try and find \u2018something serious\u2019 \u2013 but has since been forced to delete the app after discovering that many of the guys on it just wanted to see what it\u2019s like to have sex with a black woman.<\/p>\n

\u2018I have been in Ireland for 19 years and I\u2019ve been trying to find men who don\u2019t look at me and just see the fact I\u2019m black,\u2019 Filomena says.<\/p>\n

\u2018I want them to look at me as a whole person.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019ve noticed that Irish men fetishise black women. I think this is because in Ireland interracial relationships aren\u2019t as common as other places.\u2019<\/p>\n

She says that the reason many men approach her is because sex with a black woman is seen as something new \u2013 unlike men in places like London or New York.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s about being looked at (as a black woman), as just a statistic or something to tick off a bucket list\u2019.<\/p>\n

So, Filomena has taken to social media to pen an open letter to the men of Ireland:<\/p>\n
