Lena Dunham went from the Met Gala to the emergency room on Monday night, sources said, as other stars partied into Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

Before Anna Wintour\u2019s fashion ball, the \u201cGirls\u201d creator posted pics of herself at home prepping \u2014 including a makeup-free photo in the bathroom and another one of her emerging glamorously in a custom Elizabeth Kennedy frock.<\/p>\n

She later added playful shots on the red carpet including one captioned \u201cfatal attraction,\u201d featuring her lurking behind pop heartthrob Joe Jonas.<\/p>\n

A source told Page Six Dunham\u2019s next stop was unfortunately the hospital.<\/p>\n

The actress had to leave the gala when she suffered a medical issue, but was thankfully released after a series of tests.<\/p>\n

The HBO star\u2019s been very open about suffering from endometriosis, which occurs when tissue grows outside the uterus. And she\u2019s become a foremost advocate for awareness of the illness.<\/p>\n

In a 2015 piece, \u201cThe Sickest Girl\u201d for Lenny Letter, Dunham detailed her \u201clong-term chronic infection.\u201d<\/p>\n

She\u2019s also posted pics of herself in the hospital, and showed off her \u201cendo scars\u201d in a bikini.<\/p>\n

Last month, she told readers she was endometriosis-free after a fifth surgical procedure. \u201cMy surgery went off without a hitch,\u201d she wrote. \u201cThere was no endometriosis left. Between my surgeries and hormonal intervention, I was disease-free. That doesn\u2019t mean it can never return, but for now, once my sutures have been removed and my bruises have changed . . . I will be healthy.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Dunham pal told us the latest incident stemmed from her battle with the disorder.<\/p>\n

Despite any Monday setback, Dunham reveled in seemingly good spirits on the red carpet. She wore a Planned Parenthood pin and platform combat boots, and posed with Judd Apatow.<\/p>\n

Last year, Dunham slammed the gala as \u201cthe Metropolitan Museum of Getting Rejected by Athletes.\u201d She was seated next to Odell Beckham Jr. and recalled, \u201cHe looked at me and he determined I was not the shape of a woman by his standards . . . He was like, \u2018That\u2019s a marshmallow.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n

She later apologized.<\/p>\n

Dunham\u2019s rep had no comment.<\/p>\n\n
