Aaron Carter<\/strong> wants you to know that drugs are not to blame for his skinny frame.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old singer posted a series of tweets<\/a> on Wednesday addressing concerns about his weight, saying a medical condition is the cause.<\/p>\n

“By the way y’all wanna know why I’m so skinny?” he wrote to his 601k Twitter followers, following his comeback performance in Las Vegas. “It’s because @ 19 I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia. I didn’t choose that. Be kind to me.”<\/p>\n

ICYDK, a hiatal hernia is when part of the stomach periodically pushes up through the diaphragm muscle.<\/p>\n

The former child star went into detail about the condition, explaining stress is the main trigger that then results in a loss of appetite.<\/p>\n

“Basically I have an eating disorder,” he revealed.<\/p>\n

The ‘I Want Candy’ singer, who previously spoke publicly about the condition in 2015, denied that drugs played a role, despite having a history of substance abuse and checking into treatment in 2011.<\/p>\n

“No I don’t do drugs, yes I feel pain,” he wrote. “I haven’t stopped working since I was 7 years old – 22 years later and I still won’t give up.”<\/p>\n

He even went as far to say that his brother, Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter<\/strong>, could vouch for him.<\/p>\n

“If you don’t believe me ask my brother, he was there when I was 19 diagnosed,” Aaron wrote, adding, “It’s a stress eating disorder, I’m sorry I didn’t choose this.”<\/p>\n

It comes only two months after the release of his album L\u00d8V\u00cb<\/em>, which is the former teen star’s first body of work since 2002.<\/p>\n

He signed off the tweet series, writing, “I might not be exactly where I want to be but I’m doing much better than I was before. Goodnight.”<\/p>\n
