The boyfriend of TOWIE star Ferne McCann has been arrested five days after an acid attack in a London nightclub.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Arthur Collins, 25, was arrested at an address in Rushden, Northamptonshire, late last night and was questioned on suspicion of attempted murder.<\/p>\n
Police were on the hunt for the 25-year-old after a noxious substance was sprayed inside the Mangle club in Dalston on April 17.<\/p>\n
A 22-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were both blinded in one eye while around 20 others suffered burns after the incident on Easter Monday.<\/p>\n

Andre Phoenix, 21, has also been arrested and faces seven counts of grievous bodily harm over the alleged attack.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: \u2018Arthur Collins, 25, was arrested at an address in Rushden, Northants on Saturday night, 22 April by officers from the Met\u2019s Specialist Crime & Operations and Hackney Borough, with the assistance of armed officers from the East Midlands Operational Support Service (EMOpSS) and Northamptonshire Police.<\/p>\n
\u2018Collins has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He will be taken into custody at a London police station in due course.\u2019 \n<\/p>\n

Hundreds of people were at the venue when the incident occurred, and roads were closed as emergency services, including a hazardous area response team, rushed to the scene.<\/p>\n

Scotland Yard said a man and a 22-year-old woman both lost their sight in one eye after a noxious substance was sprayed into a crowd. They have since been discharged from a specialist burns unit.<\/p>\n
Tests have yet to confirm the substance but it is believed to be acidic.<\/p>\n
Among those hurt was the cousin of ex-Premier League footballer Jamie O\u2019Hara, who later described the attack as \u2018sick\u2019.<\/p>\n
Sharing a picture of his relative Sadie Wright\u2019s face, he said: \u2018Sick that my cousin got burnt from this acid attack in hackney, innocent people get injured for the sick act of violence, guy should get life.\u2019<\/p>\n

Other The Only Way Is Essex stars Chloe Meadows, Jamie Reed and his girlfriend, Jade Lewis, were also in the club but are thought to have left before the incident.<\/p>\n

A 33-year-old woman who was arrested and questioned on suspicion of firearms offences after police raided an address in Hertfordshire has been released from custody.<\/p>\n
A 24-year-old man was was arrested in north London on Friday in connection with the horrific attack has also been released.<\/p>\n
Officers swooped on the Mr Collins\u2019 \u00a31million Hertfordshire home on Tuesday but he was not believed to be at the property.<\/p>\n
It has also been alleged that officers found illegal firearms and a cannabis farm at the home.<\/p>\n
A 54-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman were arrested at Mr Collins\u2019s address on suspicion of of cultivating cannabis.<\/p>\n
A neighbour of Arthur Collins said the family had \u2018no respect for anybody\u2019 and would regularly host loud parties, which Ferne McCann attended.<\/p>\n
The man, who asked not to be named for fear of backlash, said: \u2018The whole family are dodgy, everybody around here knows that.<\/p>\n
\u2018You could hear them, music and all that s**t \u2013 they\u2019ve got no respect for anybody. He (Arthur) has probably done worse to people. I cannot even look at him.<\/p>\n
The neighbour also said he believed Collins\u2019 parents had been arrested and said: \u2018That to me proves what\u2019s been going on for a long time.<\/p>\n
\u2018There\u2019s been dealers coming in here for years.\u2019<\/p>\n

Ms McCann, who is reportedly pregnant with Mr Collins\u2019 child, was not with him at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for the TOWIE star said: \u2018Ferne is aware that the police wish to speak to Arthur Collins and the nature of the accusations against him.<\/p>\n
\u2018Obviously these are highly shocking and Ferne has co-operated with the police in their inquiries.<\/p>\n
\u2018She was not with Arthur on Sunday night; was not at Mangle; and has no direct knowledge of the events that unfolded.<\/p>\n
\u2018As much as anybody she wants to know the truth and urges Arthur to co-operate fully with the police and attend a police station immediately.\u2019<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In a recent interview with OK! Magazine, Ms McCann revealed the pair\u2019s relationship was stepping up a notch and they were looking to move in together.<\/p>\n
She also said she had plans for a romantic wedding with the Hertfordshire based scaffolder and businessman.<\/p>\n
Mr Collins is due to appear at Thames Magistrates\u2019 Court on Monday.<\/p>\n
