A fraudster enjoyed hedonistic trips to Thailand where he spent \u00a3100,000 of taxpayers\u2019 money on drugs and prostitutes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Adam Lapworth posted pictures on Facebook showing him enjoying a bath with a naked woman and kissing a woman in a swimming pool during his trips to Asia.<\/p>\n

But his holidays were funded entirely by the taxpayer after Lapworth, 32, set up a fake company, ADL Tech UK, and made false VAT repayment claims for four years.<\/p>\n

In total, the car salesman stole \u00a3265,000.<\/p>\n

He has now been jailed for two and a half years.<\/p>\n

Investigators from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) found the fraudster had spent \u00a3100,000 on luxury holidays to Thailand.<\/p>\n

Lapworth spent \u00a378,000 on online gambling, paid his drug dealer \u00a360,000 and spent \u00a319,000 on rent and gifts, as well as buying online porn and prostitute directories.<\/p>\n

Lapworth, of Orton Road, Tamworth, Staffordshire, initially said he could not be interviewed as he would be abroad for months, before writing a confession to HMRC.<\/p>\n

He pleaded guilty to fraudulent VAT claims and tax credit during a hearing at Birmingham Crown Court.<\/p>\n

In a Facebook post the day before he was jailed he said: \u2018I am facing the biggest challenge tomorrow and the foreseeable future but I promise that I will carry on doing the right things and will see you all again one day in the
\nfuture.<\/p>\n

\u2018Your love and support for me will always be remembered and never be forgotten. Take care all and thank you again and see you all soon.\u2019<\/p>\n
