HE\u2019S the young \u201ccosmetic doctor\u201d the under-35s are turning to for the perfect Instagram face.<\/p>\n

Known to friends as TJ, Dr Tijion Esho has cornered the market in tweaking the features of a generation raised on the air-brushed beauty of social media.<\/p>\n

Dr Instagram \u2026 TJ performs lip fillers and non-surgical nose jobs to clients in his clinics in Newcastle and London<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Clients come to his packed clinic in Jesmond, Newcastle, armed with pictures of celebrities they want to look like.<\/p>\n

But TJ, 35, whose most popular procedures include lip fillers and non-surgical nose jobs, says they also want to look like computer-altered versions of themselves.<\/p>\n

He explains: \u201cThey bring in images of themselves from Instagram, where filters have been overlaid.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey say they want their nose or lips to look the way they do when the app has changed them.\u201d<\/p>\n

TJ, who lives in South London, also has treatment rooms in the capital\u2019s Harley Street.<\/p>\n

His celebrity client list includes ex-Corrie star Michelle Keegan, Towie\u2019s Jessica Wright, Charlotte Crosby of Geordie Shore and Made In Chelsea\u2019s Lauren Hutton.<\/p>\n

These are not middle-aged women ironing out their crow\u2019s feet. In fact, the oldest person on that list is 32.<\/p>\n

TOWIE star Jessica Wright is one of TJ\u2019s many celebrity clients<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

She shows off her more contoured cheeks and chin with this Instagram snap for her 1.2 million followers<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A recent survey revealed one in five British women under 20 has considered plastic surgery, compared with just one in nine over-50s.<\/p>\n

Talitha Minnis, 24, a model and influencer with 234,000 Instagram followers, says: \u201cLoads of people I know have stuff done.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes it\u2019s a personal thing to help with confidence, sometimes it\u2019s because they see celebrities doing stuff and it seems like the in-thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like 90 per cent of TJ\u2019s clients, Talitha came across him on social media.<\/p>\n

Before-and-after shots of plumped lips and straightened noses have won his clinic\u2019s Instagram feed 62,000 followers.<\/p>\n

Here we see how his clients have used cosmetic work for their own Instagram pictures, with their everyday look inset.<\/p>\n

She has now created the perfect Instagram pout for her fans<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Right now, TJ\u2019s posts that get the most \u201clikes\u201d feature lip fillers, vital for the perfect selfie pout.<\/p>\n

Such procedures make up 70 per cent of TJ\u2019s daily workload, with clients nearly all in the 25-45 age group, and 45 per cent aged 25-29.<\/p>\n

MTV presenter Jess Impiazzi, 27, who appeared in two series of reality show Ex On The Beach and has 272,000 Instagram followers, goes to TJ twice a year for lip plumping.<\/p>\n

Model Talitha Minnis started visiting TJ after seeing herself on Ex On The Beach<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

She had her top lip filled after believing it was too thin on the show<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

She says: \u201cInitially I was scared. Now I\u2019ve started though, I wouldn\u2019t ever stop. I earn through social media, so I need to look my best.\u201d<\/p>\n

TJ is also often asked for cheek enhancements, using fillers to get that lemon-sucking Zoolander look.<\/p>\n

There is also huge demand for non-surgical nose jobs.<\/p>\n

TJ says: \u201cPeople see rhinoplasty done in theatre with a chisel and think, \u2018No way, that\u2019s much too brutal\u2019, but they can replicate the look with fillers. It\u2019s non-permanent.\u201d<\/p>\n

Until a visit to TJ left her all about the pout<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

It\u2019s all pricey stuff. Lips cost from \u00a3400 a pop, noses are \u00a3500, and both need topping up around twice a year.<\/p>\n

But TJ says plenty of young people have the cash. He adds: \u201cYou think what they would spend on Louis Vuitton shoes \u2014 those are perishable.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour face will be with you for the rest of your life.\u201d<\/p>\n

TJ\u2019s fame spread after he became a resident expert on Channel 4\u2019s The Body Fixers, repairing botched cosmetic jobs.<\/p>\n

He says: \u201cI see a lot of shocking stuff. Lip fillers are probably one of the most dangerous non-prescription items out there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Talitha arrived at TJ\u2019s clinic nearly three years ago, aged 21, after an earlier botched lip job.<\/p>\n

She says: \u201cIt left me with a bump in my bottom lip. TJ doesn\u2019t know what the beautician used. It could be something not really fit for lips.\u201d<\/p>\n

TJ’s skills shot to fame when he starred on The Body Fixers as resident expert<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Cally Jane Beech, 25, a former Love Island contestant and ex-Miss GB, with 312,000 Instagram followers, has had a Dermapen facial (light Botox costing \u00a3300) and her lips done twice by TJ.<\/p>\n

Many of her peers go to their local, non-medically-trained beautician.<\/p>\n

Cally says: \u201cThey don\u2019t even look that great but they look for the cheapest deal. I wouldn\u2019t go to somebody else if you paid me.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not about saving money \u2014 this is your face we\u2019re talking about.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s striking how upfront the younger generation are about their procedures. The shame or secrecy of the fortysomethings is gone.<\/p>\n

TJ says: \u201cFor this generation, part of feeling good in themselves is showing themselves on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you go into a restaurant you have to show the food before you eat it, whereas before you would just enjoy it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the same with treatments. Before, you didn\u2019t need to tell people.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, people are having them to show others, to say, \u2018I look great. I\u2019ve had this\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

But does this mean we are going to end up with a generation of Disney Princess clones?<\/p>\n

Talitha says: \u201cI\u2019ve had a lot of my friends or ex-boyfriends say, \u2018You are starting to look like everyone else\u2019, but when they say dismissive things it\u2019s sort of like jealousy.\u201d<\/p>\n

She first decided she needed work aged 21 when seeing herself on Ex On The Beach.<\/p>\n

She says: \u201cIt wasn\u2019t anyone else\u2019s criticism but I noticed my top lip was very small and there were lines on my forehead.\u201d<\/p>\n

The young doctor has cornered the market in tweaking the features of the air-brushed generation<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Psychologist Dr Linda Papadopoulos, author of Unfollow: Living Life On Your Own Terms, is alarmed by the obsession with the perfect selfie.<\/p>\n

She says: \u201cIf what you are doing is constantly seeing yourself as a work in progress, you feel as if you\u2019re never good enough.\u201d<\/p>\n

TJ knows his work is a moral minefield. He won\u2019t treat women younger than 21 but is aware some of those will simply move on to a less scrupulous practitioner.<\/p>\n

And although selfie queens are his core customer base, he\u2019s sceptical of the culture.<\/p>\n

He says: \u201cI get using social media as a window to share the fun activities you\u2019ve had, but it shouldn\u2019t be validating you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, he\u2019ll happily pose in his trademark dapper suits to promote his brand.<\/p>\n

And there is also that Instagram account to update, with his thousands of followers gawping at posts of happy, Identikit clients, desperate to ape them.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have to be so careful, though,\u201d warns Cally Jane Beech.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrends change. There was the eyebrow trend, when everybody had thin eyebrows, and now everybody wants thicker eyebrows.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo you don\u2019t want to be stuck with big lips if things move on and have to have them dissolved.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat would be a waste of money.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
