A man has been subjected to a sexual assault on the London Underground on his morning commute to work.<\/p>\n
The incident happened at around 7.30am on Wednesday March 22 on a southbound Victoria Line train.<\/p>\n
The 38-year-old victim boarded the train at Finsbury Park, and stood, as it was busy.<\/p>\n
During the journey, a man positioned himself very close to the victim, pressing himself against him and touching him inappropriately, in what police are calling a “prolonged” assault which continued until the victim got off the train at Kings Cross.<\/p>\n
Investigating officer, detective constable Suleman Yazdani from British Transport Police, said: \u201cThis was a disgraceful and prolonged assault committed on a busy commuter tube service.<\/p>\n
“As you can imagine this was a frightening experience for him as he quite rightly did not expect or want this man to touch him.<\/p>\n
BTP describe the suspect as a man of slender build and of around 5ft 7in tall.<\/p>\n
He is believed to be in his mid-twenties and has blue eyes and blond hair which was curly on the top.<\/p>\n
At the time of the incident, he was wearing black jeans, trainers, a camouflage jacket and was holding a bright rucksack.<\/p>\n
He also had a black earning in his left ear.<\/p>\n
Detective constable Suleman Yazdani, added: “If you know someone who matches the description then please get in touch as your information could be vitally important.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnwanted sexual behaviour such as this will never be tolerated and we work closely with our partners throughout the capital to encourage victims to report offences.<\/p>\n
“Recently, we launched a refreshed version of the highly successful Report it to Stop it campaign, to tackle under-reporting and raise awareness of the reporting services.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
