According to <\/span>People<\/em>, Kylie Minogue has officially won the legal battle against Kylie Jenner after the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office rejected the latter’s request to trademark her name on Monday.<\/p>\n As previously reported, the makeup mogul first attempted to trademark her first name back in 2014; but in February 2016, KBD – a firm representing Minogue – filed a notice of opposition to the application, stating it would cause “confusion” for the singer’s fans. The notice went on to (very shadily) refer to Jenner as a “secondary reality television personality,” and to state that her “controversial posts have drawn criticism from, e.g., the Disability Rights and African-American communities.”<\/p>\n Furthermore, the notice went on to point out that Minogue already has the trademark rights to multiple variations of her name, and has owned the website Kylie.com since 1996 – before Jenner was even born.<\/p>\n However, <\/span>People<\/em> <\/span>goes on to report that the younger Kylie plans to appeal the ruling, as she wants to use her name for future beauty and fashion endeavors – so the battle of the Kylies continues.<\/p>\n\n What’s in a name, you ask?
