A Houston sports reporter, Courtney Roland goes missing, turns up in Chick-fil-A

A Houston sports reporter, who went missing the day after she texted her roommate that a strange man was following her, has been found safe inside a Chick-fil-A, according to reports.

Courtney Roland, 29, a Texas A&M reporter for Rivals.com who disappeared Sunday, was found Monday at the eatery near Houston’s Galleria mall, police tweeted.

ABC13 reporter Courtney Fischer said Roland was discovered inside a Chick-fil-A. She was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Friends and family feared the worst after Roland sent a message to her roommate Saturday afternoon saying that a creep shadowed her at a Walgreens and then began tailing her in his car, KHOU-TV reported. She told the friend the man drove off when she pulled into her home driveway.

The next day, she was gone.

Roland was last seen alone at the shopping mall at about 5:40 p.m. Sunday, wearing a camouflage fleece and an orange hat. She was supposed to meet up with her roommate later that evening, but never showed.

Investigators found her Jeep Cherokee in the mall parking lot, along with her phone. They recovered her purse elsewhere inside the shopping complex, Houston police tweeted.

Roland’s mom got a cryptic text Sunday that read: “’hello the owner of this phone Courtney. I am buying an iPad,’” according to KPRC-TV.
