The woman who filed for a restraining order against lawyer Michael Avenatti — days after he was arrested for domestic violence — is an Estonian actress who recently had a bit part in “Ocean’s Eight.”
Mareli Miniutti also has credited roles in upcoming 2018 films “Crypto,” starring Kurt Russell, and “Sargasso,” according to her IMDb page.
She starred as the “party girl” in 2016’s “How to Be Single” with Rebel Wilson.
The 20-something-year-old’s Instagram was set to private shortly after news of her restraining order broke on Monday — but a cached version of it shows she regularly traveled to Europe, Heavy.com reported.
“Don’t confuse instagram for real life,” her bio on the site says.
Public records show her with an address in Manhattan.
It’s unclear whether Miniutti is the same woman who claims Avenatti left her “swollen and bruised.” But online records show the actress filed for a temporary restraining order at the Santa Monica courthouse of Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday — five days after the attorney was detained on a felony domestic violence charge. A hearing in the case is set for Dec. 10.
Avenatti, who represents porn star Stormy Daniels in her hush-money legal battle against President Trump, was not officially charged with a crime and was released on $50,000 bail.
He has vehemently denied the allegations, claiming he is a “target.”
“I look forward to a full clearing of my name and disclosure of all of the facts,” he tweeted. “I have NEVER abused a woman or committed domestic violence against anyone. Any claim to the contrary is completely bogus and fabricated.”
In a later tweet early Tuesday, he said, “There is nothing more powerful than video evidence. NOTHING! I will be fully exonerated.”
It’s unclear who Miniutti’s lawyer is. She could not be reached Tuesday.
