The 43-year-old swimming champion spent her days being filmed completely nude in a bid to find love
A former Olympic gold medallist has stripped totally naked for a stint on the Netherlands’ version of Love Island in a bid to find her Mr Right.
Inge de Bruijn, who took gold at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney and again at the 2004 Games in Athens, has taken part in Dutch reality show Adam Zoekt Eva (Adam Seeks Eve), which involves the participants taking off their clothes and spending their days completely nude while meeting potential partners.
The 43-year-old swimmer was invited onto the show for a celebrity special spin-off, which is due to air this Thursday on Dutch TV channel RTL5.
In stills released before the episode, Inge can be seen walking along a sandy beach next to a man carrying a plastic bag – standard first-date situation, you might think, except both of them are wearing nothing.
Inge can also be spotted wielding a large knife and using it to cut open a coconut with her long blonde hair falling over her shoulder.
In another image from the show, Inge carries a small pile of kindling that has been set on fire – but once again, she’s completely naked.
Speaking ahead of the air date, Inge said she is looking for something special in her next partner.
“He must be sweet, charming, caring, funny and a bit mysterious,” she revealed.
Inge added that she hopes her appearance on Adam Seeks Eve leads to more TV work – especially on travel and lifestyle programmes as she’s harboured a love of travelling since she was young.
It comes after a Channel 4 dating show featuring full-frontal nudity caused shock and outrage in the UK.
Naked Attraction aired last summer and was given the post-watershed slot of 10pm in order to show a line-up of bums, boobs and bits.
Hosted by Anna Richardson, the show saw each potential dater choose from six other participants, who were slowly unveiled from inside huge glass tubes.
It received a number of complaints after its first episode showed hundreds of images of genitalia, but Ofcom announced it would not be investigating as the show had clearly signposted its intention to feature nudity.
