Models on the runway for the Leonard Paris Spring/Summer 2017 show positively sparkled and for a number of reasons.
For starters, the fashion was gorgeous athletic-wear style with textures and colours harking back to the Seventies. There were icy whites and pinks, a touch of violet through to burgundy. High-tech fabrics produced a plastic-like shine while fur and even lame provided a slightly retro feel.
It’s a 70’s trend with a 2017 touch and we can’t get enough of it. Image: Getty.
Just watching the show made us feel kind of cool, but it was the beauty look that impressed us most, in particular a striking blue eye shadow.
We’ve not seen a blue eye shadow quite this bold since, well, the 70’s, and even then it was constrained to a hint of eye-liner or a light wash on the upper eyelid. But this … this blue eye was something altogether different.
Turquoise and as bright as a summer sky, the matte eye-shadow was swept across the entire upper eyelid from the inner corner and several centimetres past the outer corner. Some of the models also sported a line of rich, black Kohl under the lower lash line which we also adored.
This eye look works best with bright blue shadow. For nails, try navy or sea blue. Image: Getty.
It’s probably not a look that will work in most corporate environments, but if you work in an artistic, creative field then we see no reason not to give this gorgeous look a try. Alternatively, give it a try next Friday night. You’ll turn heads without a doubt.
If you’re not feeling quite that bold consider blue nail polish instead. Skip the light pastel variety however. This look works best with navy blues that border on black.
